The project is being implemented by the IFRTD: the International Forum for Rural Transport and Development. IFRTD is a global network of individuals and organisations working together towards improved access, mobility and economic opportunity for poor communities in developing countries.
The project has been contracted by the African Community Access Programme (AFCAP) managed by Crown Agents.. AFCAP is designed to address the challenges of providing reliable access for poor communities. AFCAP provides advice and undertakes research to deliver safe and sustainable access to rural communities.
AFCAP funds are provided by the Department for International Development (DFID) of the British government. DFID leads Britain’s fight against global poverty, delivering UK aid around the world.
